Live data for the current week — a friendly preview of the region, not a forecast for the retreat dates.

A short trip.
A world away.

Step off the plane and into another rhythm. Warm sunlight over endless vines, fresh coffee on a stone terrace, the smell of earth and rosemary in the air.

No jet lag, no week off work — just a few unhurried days that feel like a proper holiday, in the company of an easy-going group who love Spain as much as you do.

Who it’s for

Curious travellers, roughly 25 to 70, who love Spain and the Spanish language, want to keep learning, and are ready to break the routine with an experience that’s a little out of the ordinary.

What you get

In short, this is what the weekend gives you.

Spanish you will actually use

Four classes in small groups, split by level, with teachers whose first language is Spanish. Between lessons you keep practising over breakfast, on walks and at dinner.

A small group

No more than 16 people, so there is room for everyone to speak. By the first dinner you know everyone by name.

Close to home

Direct flights from Oslo to Barcelona. We pick you up at the airport and take it from there.

Everything organised

Transfers, meals and activities are all included, so you can focus on your Spanish.

Mild autumn weather

Late October in the Penedès is usually mild, so a lot of the day happens outdoors.

Good food and local wine

Home-cooked Mediterranean meals and a visit to a local winery with a tasting.

The Spanish part

Relaxed immersion — with real structure

This is not a holiday that happens to have a lesson tacked on. You get genuine, level-appropriate classes with native-speaker teachers from Ilya’s team — wrapped inside days of easy, real-life practice.

Taught by native speakers

Classes are run by Ilya's professional teaching team — native Spanish speakers who teach for a living. Ilya, a Hispanist and accredited DELE examiner, designs the programme and hosts the retreat.

Four real classes

Four proper sessions across the retreat — Friday evening, Saturday morning and evening, and Sunday morning. Real lessons, not a token activity.

Split by level

We divide the group by level. Stronger speakers focus on real conversation; those starting out build a confident foundation. Everyone learns at the right pace.

Immersion all day

Between classes you keep speaking — at breakfast, on the winery tour, over dinner. The whole weekend becomes gentle, natural practice.

Made to actually use

The goal is practical communication, not grammar drills. You leave able to say more, understand more and enjoy speaking Spanish.

Where you’ll stay

Two welcoming country houses in the Penedès — Can Masana and Cal Cols — in the village, surrounded by the vineyards.

Think comfortable and homely rather than five-star. The rooms are clean, warm and quiet, with plenty of shared spaces — stone arches, a shaded terrace, a courtyard and a pool — to gather, practise your Spanish and unwind after a day in the vineyards. With a maximum of 16 guests, the house never feels crowded.

“This isn’t only about language. It’s Spain the way I’ve come to love it — the food, the wine, the countryside and the people. You leave speaking more freely, yes, but also lighter, with new friends and a place that feels a little like home.”

What guests say

“I came not knowing what to expect and left with real confidence. The combination of Spanish classes, wine tasting and the incredible setting made this unlike any holiday I’ve had.”

Marta H. Norway

“The house was great. Waking up to vineyards, learning Spanish over breakfast, riding horses… I would recommend it 100%.”

James W. United Kingdom

“This is NOT a language course. It’s an experience that happens to teach you Spanish. Best long weekend of my life.”

Flying from Oslo

Easy flights home, your way

If you fly from Oslo, we've checked the routes for you. You are completely free to book whatever flights suit you best — these are simply the most comfortable options we found, so no one has to rush or take a long connection home.

Getting there

A direct morning flight leaves Oslo on Friday and lands in Barcelona in good time for the welcome lunch. We meet you at the airport and take care of the rest — the transfer to the estate is included.

Standard return — Sunday

There is one direct Oslo flight on Sunday (around 15:30). To catch it you would leave the estate by about midday, so the last day is a little shorter. This fits the standard price with nothing extra.

Most relaxed

Relaxed return — one extra night

Prefer not to rush? Stay one more night at Cal Cols, enjoy a slow final evening and morning among the vineyards, then fly home Monday on one of two direct flights (around 13:00 or 15:00).

+€180 per person (extra night, supper & breakfast)

We do not sell or book flight tickets. Please check current fares yourself and choose what suits you best. We are always happy to fit the program around your flights.
